6. The Death of Mini 2

After I had removed the engine and any other parts I could use, I thought that I would be able to sell what was left of Mini2, but after looking very closely at the remains, it really was a rust bucket, so I decided to remove anything that could be salvaged and scrap the rest of the shell.

Doesn't look that bad does it?

With that in mind I removed the passengers door and boot lid, which were both in good condition, along with the bonnet, which had a small but repairable crease in one corner. After that it was just a matter of removing the glass, and then taking the grinder and big chisel to the shell.

Off with the front.

and all piled up

Once in pieces, the remains of the car were piled up ready to take to the scrap man, and Mini 2 was no more. It is sad to think that a Mini has ended up this way, but I am glad that it came my way and helped with the rebuilding of a brother. Goodbye old friend.
